Harold “Red” Simmons---a very, very long-time friend of the University of Michigan

Athletic Department and the Letterwinners M Club; and Michigan’s first coach of

women’s track and field (1976)---turned 100 in January, 2010. Red was recognized

during the UofM’s men’s basketball victory vs. Ohio State.at Crisler Arena, and

honored by many of his friends, colleagues and supporters at a party afterwards.

Steven Ross, a generous and long-standing supporter of the University of Michigan and the Michigan Athletic

Department---and after whom the University’s business school is named---was awarded an Honorary M letter

in 2009. Shown here is Ross, in letter jacket, with Letterwinners M Club President Mike Amine.

M Day is the annual golf outing at the University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor. Get your fivesome of

letterwinners together for a great day. Hundreds of Michigan men and women from all sports and eras will be

there, as well as a number of current Michigan coaches.
