Gustavo Borges Honored

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) will induct its 48th Class of Honorees on Saturday, May 12, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The 11-member class is headlined by former University of Michigan men's swimmer and Brazilian international Gustavo Borges. While at Michigan, Borges was a 10-time NCAA champion, a four-time All-American and nine-time Big Ten champion. Swimming internationally for his native Brazil, he won four Olympic medals, two silver and two bronze medals in the 100- and 200-meter freestyle and 400-meter freestyle relay. Borges holds the second-most Olympic medals of any Brazilian and the second-most Pan American Games gold medals of any Brazilian with eight.
